Conservative Christian group flies Gay Day warning over Disney World

The Florida Family Association has paid thousands of dollars for a plane to fly over Disney World dragging a giant banner reading “Warning Gay Day At Disney” during this year's annual event.

The group claims that every year thousands of Disney visitors pay for parking, tickets and souvenirs before realising there are gay people in the park, forcing them to leave. This seemingly groundless claim is denied by Disney.

"Why would Disney allow Gay Day to take place during regular operating hours at the expense of offending tens of thousands of unsuspecting guests when they require other special events to be held after normal operating hours?" the group asks.

It "wants to warn these families about this offensive event before they arrive at the Magic Kingdom”.

"Many Gay Day patrons wore shirts that promoted homosexuality, kissed, hugged and groped in very public places and dressed in drag all to the curiosity of tens of thousands of children," the group said.

Supporters of the annual event – now in its 20th year – said Gay Day gives the area's economy a much needed $150 million boost.

“The economy is improving because of what Gay Days bring into it,” Gay Day President Chris Alexander-Manley said.

“Our crowd behaves better than most convention crowds, so come on out and see what it's really about.”

The Disney event is part of a week-long Gay Pride celebration.

Hilarious! You couldn't make it up. Sounds like a spoof news story. I would love to see examples of the "shirts that promoted homosexuality"
