25th Anniversary of Berlin Gay Film Award

The Teddy Award, the world's most renowned gay film award, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2011.

The Teddy award forms part of the Berlinale, Berlin's world renowned international film festival. During a gala event on 18 February, awards will be given for best feature, best documentary and best short film, as well as the Special Teddy for artistic life's work given to an outstanding personality to the 25th time within the scope of the Berlinale.

The TEDDY is an award for political and social commitment. It supports filmmakers and films that are engaged in queer issues on a broad social scale, thereby contributing to further tolerance, acceptance, solidarity and equality in society.
